Heavy rain across the Yorkshire region this morning has led to 4 Flood Warnings in place and a warning from the Met Office.

The Met Office has issued a warning  at 1am this morning for West Yorkshire as a spell of heavy rain threatens flooding and damage to homes. The Yellow Warning has been issued will run through to 11am, with the severe rain expected to affect the morning commute to work.

The Met Office website states: “A spell of rain, heavy at times, is expected and will be accompanied by strong winds. Flooding of a few homes and business is likely. Bus and train services will probably be affected and spray and flooding is expected on roads, this all making journey times longer.”  This is likely to affect areas of Calderdale, Bradford, Leeds and Harrogate.

If you are leaving your property today, it may be wise to deploy flood barriers if you are in a flood risk zone and prepare a flood action plan in case your property floods while you are away from the property.
